Brookings Medical Center (officially the Curry Medical Center) came in 3rd Place for the DJC 2012 Public Buildings Award. See article <HERE>.

Size/Type: 33,500 sq. ft. total.
Structural System: Concrete shear walls on the ground floor and metal studs with wood sheathed shear walls for lateral resistance and steel beams/columns for the bearing loads.
Special Features: The covered entry had steel HSS sections suspended under a long spanning wide flange steel beam supported on narrow concrete columns. The interior lobby supported steel roof beams on glue laminated columns.
