Article from Mortenson Construction

Article from Mortenson Construction – I found the following article interesting regarding the healthcare industry and facility design trends. Follow the link to the article: Mortenson News. In the article is a link to their findings based on healthcare professionals views. According to the report, “Despite the difficult economy, three in four healthcare institution respondents expect their organization’s construction activity will increase over the next 12-24 months, with 27% describing the increase as substantial.” So there is the possibility for continued new growth in design of facilities while trying to utilize existing facilities, making them leaner and more efficient. At the same time respondents mentioned, “Improving patient experience was rated as the highest operational priority, on par with the central healthcare responsibility of improving patient outcomes, safety, and survival.” Finally the respondents said, “Despite financial challenges and regulatory uncertainties,
participants are optimistic for the future of healthcare and confident that they and their healthcare colleagues will rise to meet industry challenges.” For the full article and report, see the link above and within the article.
